Yomiuri Land East 「Concert」

*warning – post will mainly feature Risa, Ai and Sayumi caps*

So here’s my review of the incredibly epic and truly amazing Yomiuri Land East Coupling concert. I wrote this post ‘on the fly’ and as it’s the first time I’ve done something like this I hope it turns out okay. What do I mean by ‘on the fly’? Well I mean I’m popping my Yomiuri Land East cherry right here, right now by watching each song…twice – once to experience it then once again to screen cap it – and after having my dirty way with them (or maybe it’s the other way round) I’m pausing the concert to write up my thoughts and feelings on what I’ve just experienced. That’s dedication right?

Before I even start my song by song review I want to say that Eri’s hair colour does not go well with her red t-shirt and brown waistcoat! In fact the waist coat is an immediate wardrobe malfunction from the off only heightened ten fold by her hair. Urgh…ME DON’T LIKE! Because of this I won’t be including many screen caps of Eri in my post. Sorry…

This is my ultimate favourite number one Morning Musume coupling song so I was incredibly upset to see that it wasn’t performed in it’s entirety. Not just because it’s such a downright awesome track that deserves to be given 100% air time but also because we didn’t get to hear the best Hello! Project line ever – Risa’s “ATSUI ATSUI YORU DA YO NE~!” Seriously…I’m really not happy that she didn’t get to shout that out <_< Oh well…I still love the song and it was a pefect opener but meh…that’s gonna annoy me no end!

Risa’s gets in to it so much more then everyone else, even Ai! Work it baby ♥

This is my third favourite coupling song after both Hand Made CITY and Odore! Morning Curry and I just knew it was going to be performed at this concert. I mean how could it not be? A few people had told me to look out for Jun Jun attempting to kiss Risa and I really thought it would happen in this song but it didn’t. This I’m thankful for as this song is all about Ai and Risa. They performed it well and the TakaGaki interaction was as great as it always is which makes me a very happy Lolli indeed. It was kinda hard to get an awesome screen cap of it though because when Ai actually has her arm quite nicely around Risa’s shoulders Risa looks in pain (>_<)

NOW WAIT A MINUTE! This isn’t a coupling song! The *audacity!!!1 Okay, because this concert was performed around the time of the single release they decided to pimp the song here. Now I don’t mind really but that slot could’ve been used for another coupling song – my vote would go to Odore! Morning Curry – or they could’ve sung Hand Made CITY in it’s entirety. I thought I would get over it if they showed Risa’s boob rubbing action but no, the camera was on Eri and Aika during that part. PFFFFT! <_< Even though this song doesn’t fail, it fails for being performed at a Coupling concert and then having what is, in my opinion, the best part omitted from the DVD. Other than that i was okay…

Man I hate this song!!! Hate it, hate it, hate it *throws toys out of pram* Ai and Risa do this high pitched singing near the end and I hate it!!!1 The only redeeming feature about it with regards to this concert is that Risa managed to pwn Ai-chan in the dancing stakes. Yep…Risa >>> Ai. Want proof? Well here’s an awesome gif made by nono:)bbz from Hello! Online.

It looks a lot better when accompanied by the music so really needs to be seen. Check it out if you can. Oh and Sayumi also gets a lot of love and attention in this song. By that I don’t mean love from the other members but love from the producer as she receives copious amounts of screen time. I don’t mind this either as Sayumi is my heated dream bitch at the minute so the more I get to see  her the better ^^

Even though I hate this part I can’t deny that I love the TakaGaki touching *squee*

Subete wa Ai no Chikara

Death by Sayu. A noble way to die!

This is one of the two Nanchatte Renai coupling songs and I personally believe that the only reason why it was preformed at this concert was because the other (far superior) coupling song - Aki Urara - was being performed on the Nine Smile tour. The one thing I do like about Subete wa Ai no Chikara is that it has a pretty even line distribution. That’s not scientifically proven I might add, but they all seem to have equal amounts meaning extra helpings of Sayumi, Jun Jun, Lin Lin and even Koharu (lets be honest, what she did get in singles wasn’t as much as Ai, Risa, Eri or Reina but also wasn’t as little as the rest of the group). There’s also an incredibly cool dance part in the middle of the song which, if they didn’t change camera angles part way through, would’ve made an awesome gif. Hmm…anyone else notice that the dance for this song is a bit trippy? Was the choreographer on drugs when he/she came up with the dance routine? I would say that it’s quite possible that they were…

When the music to this song started my chest got all tight, I became really excited, and managed to remain like that for the whole song. I liked this song when Yossie was lead but I love a gajillion times more since Risa took over her part. Even though this wasn’t Risa’s song to start with I feel like she’s adopted it and now loves performing it just as much as she loves performing How Do You Like Japan? The Morning Musume Love train following Risa on their invisible bicycles is a neat little touch at the beginning and thus whoever came up with that deserves a medal!  One thing I don’t understand though is why the changed the dance for the chorus… The old way was a lot better. Maybe they had some instances of Wota accidentally smacking each other in the heads whilst dancing so decided to change it for safety reasons. I don’t know though, dodging the frantic glowstick / wotagei movements of the guy standing next to you is what these concerts are all about!!! Hopefully it’s a temporary thing. Either way, LOVE LOVE LOVE this song ♥

At the beginning of this song Risa & Koharu, Eri & Jun Jun, Aika & Risa and Sayu & Lin Lin sing parts together (in twos). Every pair get close to each other apart from Risa and Aika. Hells, Risa doesn’t even get within spitting distance of Aika and I think that’s funny as fuck XD I honestly can’t blame Risa for not wanting to get close to her. Here’s caps for proof (if needed):

This is a very happy, genki song which always gets me pumped up even if it’s not a favourite of mine. The opening boob jiggle is very appreciated even if I do say so myself. Especially as the camera was on Risa and Eri at the time (^_^) Oh…and there’s also a bit where Risa and Eri do a jumping high-5 and it’s funny as hell because it looks so stupid. Gotta love the pair of them ♥ Other than that I don’t have much to say about this song.

I should be angry because this is also not a coupling song but I just can’t get mad with Sexy Boy. It’s just not possible. Sexy Uee Uee~! The dance is great, the song is great, everything about it is great! Anyone noticed how Reina does an impression of a fish gasping for air during parts of the dance? Always brings a grin to my face :D

When I first saw this song performed during a concert (Resonant LIVE) I really didn’t like it but I’ve come to understand that my decision then was probably because of the stupid outfits they were wearing (fisherman’s sou’wester fail!). Now I absolutely love the song with – as you can probably guess – the ass touching parts being my favourite. It’s always so happy and lively and the girls seem to enjoy performing it. What’s not to like about it?

Guys…this song is called ‘Happy Night’, not ‘Love and Peace! Hero ga Yattekita’ <_<

I believe this is the first time I’ve heard this song and I hope to dear god it is the last. Seriously!!! IMO it’s something and nothing and was the weakest song of the whole concert. Most of the girls (including Ai and Reina) struggled to sing in as low a pitch as what was required so it sounded a little forced, plus everyone – excluding Risa that is – didn’t seem that pumped up by it at all. Tsunku, please don’t make them perform this song EVER again!

I don’t think there’s a Morning Musume fan I know who doesn’t like this song. It’s an old faithful which always makes me feel upset yet at the same time really happy. I think that’s partly to do with the way that the members look so contemplative whilst they’re singing it. Because of the way it elicits emotions I want this song played at my cremation whilst my coffins going in to the fire…or something. Providing nobody understands the lyrics I expect the melody will both tug on their heartstrings and fill them with good thoughts of my life. Yeah… <_<

Overall this concert was amazing with only Happy Night being a set back. The venue that was chosen for it was a mark of pure genius and I hope very much that Morning Musume get to preform in an open air theatre again. They certainly rocked the place. La’aKea from Hello! Online commented on an earlier post of mine saying that the open air setting evoked ‘end of summer’ feelings. I totally 100% agree with this statement. It’s a really amazing feeling and no other event has made me feel this way so I can see me replaying this concert many times for that reason alone ♥

P.S – I wanna be the kid Risa was waving to right at the end! No fucking fair!!!
